Funakoshi's Dojo Kun

What does 'Dojo Kun' mean?
In essence, the words mean 'the rules of the Dojo'.

There are five rules that are generally thought to have been passed down from Okinawan Karate masters to the present. The originator of these rules is rumoured to be Sakugawa, an 18th Century Karate enthusiast who lived in Okinawa. But, others believe that the Dojo Kun we still have were created by Gichin Funakoshi, albeit no hard evidence exists to support this. Back to top
